#5: Happy Is a Yuppie Word

#5: What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now?

1) Music. This is what makes me tick. It's always been something that makes me happy in life. I love listening to it, I love writing it, I love playing it, and I love singing it. I love that there is a kind of music for every emotion in life... like if I'm mad about something, Miranda Lambert and T Swift are my ladies. If I just wanna live in a dreamland for a little bit, I "pop in" some Owl City. If I'm sad, Lady A usually does the trick. If I just wanna dance alone in my room and forget about the worries of the world, MJ is my man. I LOVE MUSIC.

2) Puzzles. This may sound really lame, but puzzles help me figure stuff out. And plus they're just fun and it's totally rewarding when you finish a massive 1000 piece puzzle (and totally irritating when you realize that you've lost just ONE piece, ughhhh). Also a plus: after your done a puzzle, you now have artwork for your house! I'm especially appreciative of it now that I live alone and the only things hanging on the wall in my house are a couple calendars, a whiteboard and a photograph of the Beatles. Thomas Kinkade puzzles are my favourite. His paintings are so pretty.

Side note: does anyone else think the word "puzzle" is kinda weird? I mean, just think about it.

3) Books. I used to read a lot more books when I was younger. I wanna get back into it though. Before a couple weeks ago, I hadn't read anything but non-fiction books since high school probably. At bible school, I read a lot of apologetics and what was called "inspirational" books. I also read quite a few scientific books on evolution and creationism actually, which makes me sound like a total nerd. Anyway, as of yesterday when I thought of this, I've decided that I'm going to try to read a book a week. Even if I've read it before. Ya know, just to start reading more.

4) Nature. I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, but from time to time I do very much enjoy being in nature. It's a constant reminder of how epic God is. And let's not forget about the nature inside; the nature of the human body. Totally fascinating. Talk about an EPIC and AWESOME God we have, eh?

5) Christ. I put Him at the bottom of the list because He kind of sums up what makes me happy perfectly. He's the SOURCE of my happiness.

"Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow." - James 1:17 NLT
